LeBron James agrees that son Bronny has better jump shot

LeBron James isn’t only the basketball star in his family. It looks like his son, Lebron James Jr. (Bronny)  is walking in his father’s footsteps in the sport, or maybe even surpassing his talents after ESPN National Recruiting Director and NBA Draft analyst Paul Biancardi said that the 15-year-old is a better jump shooter than his father.

“I hope LeBron is not going to get mad at me, but I think Bronny’s jump shot is a little bit better …”,” Biancardi said in a clip of his son posted on Twitter by ESPN.

The NBA star sided with the assessment on Twitter, even adding that he may have the third-best jump shot in his house.

“Can’t ever be mad at the facts!!! Flame thrower he has! And by the way I probably got the 3rd best jump shot in the household. Bryce Maximus got a cooker too!,” James wrote on Twitter.

James has always shown his support for his kid’s talents in the sport that they all play and love.

One of the dreams James has been vocal about is playing in the NBA with Bronny, and CBS Sports claims that it may be possible based on Bronny’s skill and the rate James is playing in the field.

The site reports that Bronny is already “the most famous high school player” in the nation based on his talents.

Bronny, who is currently is a high school freshman played his “first career high school start” on Tuesday, Dec. 3 playing for the Sierra Canyon Trail Blazers, USA Today reports.

His coach, Andre Chevalier, said his dedication and consistency had earned him the ability to do so.

“(Bronny) has been consistent in practice,” Chevalier said about James Jr. “He’s the only guy this year that’s practiced everyday. He stepped into the opportunity when it presented itself.”

It looks like in a few more years James and Bronny will be the next father and son duo who have played in the NBA.

South Florida man first convicted under ‘Red Flag’ law

A Florida man, who was the first in his state to be charged with violating the “Red Flag” law, was convicted of the charge and now faces up to five years behind bars.

Jerron Smith, 33, of Deerfield Beach, was found guilty on December 6 of refusing to let police confiscate his weapons under the “Red Flag”. It requires certain people considered to be more apt to use their firearms in a crime to surrender their firearms upon law enforcement requests. Smith allegedly refused to do this in March 2018 according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

The bi-partisan backed law was passed after the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. In order to be invoked, the law requires law enforcement agencies to determine that a person is at an elevated risk to use a firearm in a crime. Once that determination is made, police then have to convince a judge that the person is at a high risk of illegally using their weapon. When a judge signs off, a person has two options: to surrender their firearms to police or give them to an independent person who is authorized to legally possess the weapons, however that person has to agree not to allow the defendant access to the weapons.

Smith was arrested in 2018 for reportedly firing his gun at a car driven by his friend, Travis Jackson, after the two got into an argument over a cell phone. Jackson wasn’t hurt in the incident, according to the Sun-Sentinel. However, police obtained a “risk protection order” under the new law, which they served on Smith after they showed up at his home.

Smith’s lawyer, Jim Lewis, said his client refused to turn his weapons over to police, or give them to an independent person, because he didn’t understand his rights.

“He never had an opportunity to understand what was going on,” Lewis said, according to the Sun-Sentinel. “He thought he had a right to have an attorney present before the order was executed.”

During his trial, Smith also told a jury that he invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.

However, Prosecutor Diana Chiorean told jurors that Smith knew his rights and that the encounter was captured on police body cam, which was replayedfor the jury. The deputies are heard telling Smith that he must surrender his weapons but that his lawyer could challenge the ruling at a court hearing.

The jury returned a guilty verdict in less than an hour. Smith also faces an attempted murder charge and is awaiting trial.

Fake Christmas Trees Are the Bhad Bhabie of Christmas Trees

I was at my grandmother’s house when I first saw the TurboGrafx-16 of Christmas trees. My mother had explained that my grandparents were older and they didn’t have the time nor the energy to fuss over a real tree. I was probably around eight and I was excited to see a fake tree since the name “fake tree” sounded like…

Kanye West and Joel Osteen to Host Sunday Service at Yankee Stadium

The pair are at it again! According to AllHipHopKanye West and Pastor Joel Osteen will be teaming up in the Bronx at the home of the Bronx Bombers, Yankee Stadium.

The born again Christian rapper is scheduled to join Osteen and his wife, Victoria, at their “America’s Night of Hope” event on May 2, 2020. West just recently made a guest appearance on Nov. 17 at Osteen’s Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. This will be Osteen’s third time bringing the “America’s Night of Hope” series to the baseball stadium. Tickets were listed around $15 in the past but it isn’t clear if the price will increase due to West’s addition to the bill. Yankee Stadium has a max capacity of 54,251, almost 10,000 more than Lakewood.

West started his Sunday Service about a year ago and had been performing his service to a crowd on his own property in Calabasas, California. As the service gained popularity, he decided to take it on the road to different cities in the U.S. for others to witness. He also has a choir who performs in front of large crowds of people on streets, churches, and festivals.

West is this year’s highest-earning hip-hop artist, according to Forbes. Although Jay-Z earned $81 million and was crowned as hip-hop’s first billionaire earlier this year, West nearly doubled his earnings, raking in $150 million in pre-tax income. Meanwhile, West’s Yeezy footwear collection with Adidas is on-pace to generate $1.5 billion this year. Plus, West recently settled a lawsuit against EMI Music Publishing for an undisclosed amount, which may also add to earnings.

Osteen is the senior pastor and televangelist of Lakewood Church, which is a non-denominational Christian megachurch located in Houston, Texas. It is one of the largest congregations in the country, averaging about 52,000 attendees each week. The 16,800-seat Lakewood Church building used to be the former Compaq Center. Osteen’s televised sermons are seen by over 7 million viewers weekly and over 20 million monthly in over 100 countries.
