USPS mail dumped in California parking lot in viral video

Video footage shows unopened USPS mail being tossed from a truck into a California parking lot.

Bags of mail were dumped in a parking lot from the back of a Budget moving truck in Glendale, California and the United States Postal Service still searches for answers.

According to KTLA5, mail was found in two separate locations in Glendale with one incident captured on surveillance video. Unopened letters and packages were released into parking lots in the early morning hours of Sept. 3. Glendale Police Department Sgt. Christian Hauptmann confirmed the events to the news outlet.

While there is no video of the first reported dump, taking place at around 7:30 p.m., the second reported occurrence happening around 5:40 a.m. was caught on tape.

Video footage from 7Q Spa Laser & Aesthetics shows a rented Budget vehicle pulling up to the location leaving bags of letters and packages.

“It happened early in the morning, 5:40, and it was a Budget rental — big truck — that backed up to the parking lot. And they’re like, slowly, one by one, they’re dropping the packages,” Lilia Serobian, an owner of the spa, told KTLA5.

According to CNN, Omar Gonzalez, the Western regional coordinator for the American Postal Workers, says USPS employees had nothing to do with the mysterious attempted mail disposals.

“We wanted to make sure it wasn’t a bargaining employee,” Gonzalez said to CNN. “We talked to the Glendale supervisor and the Glendale manager and asked from where the contractors would have received the bags. That’s when they responded, telling us the Union should not speak about it.”

He explains that some companies who ship in bulk have plastic bags with the USPS logo to bring to the bulk shipping department at the dock. Incoming mail is supposed to be placed into USPS trucks and transported to a processing center, according to CNN.

Whether the mail thrown from the truck was incoming or outgoing is unclear.

“If it’s outgoing, we don’t know how it got into the Budget truck,“ Gonzales said to CNN.

The Postal Inspectors office and local police are both conducting investigations. The mail will go through a verification process and be delivered.

Colin Kaepernick is returning to Madden

Kaepernick has been absent from Madden since 2016 but he’s now back on the virtual field

Colin Kaepernick is back on the football field like he never left—the virtual field that is. The former San Francisco 49ers player will make his return to Madden after being absent from the game for over five years.

Kaepernick is known for using his platform to take a stand against injustice. In 2016, he refused to stand for “The Star-Spangled Banner,” in protest of systematic racism and police brutality. But since his very public stance, the player has not been signed to a major NFL team. The Grio reported back in May that an NFL executive confirmed Kaepernick has not been picked up due to his activism.

Initially, when Kaepernick became a free agent he was no longer included in the group licensing agreement, so EA Sports could not use his likeness. But now Kaepernick is back and EA Sports says fans can look forward to seeing the player as soon as Thursday.

According to The Undefeated, EA Sports released a statement saying, “Colin Kaepernick is one of the top free agents in football and a starting-caliber quarterback. The team at EA SPORTS, along with millions of Madden NFL fans, want to see him back in our game.”

Kaepernick played a very big role in what his Madden avatar will look like. The player requested his likeness include his illustrious afro, an update from his past avatar which featured cornrows braided to the back.

Cynthia Bailey reveals official date for wedding with Mike Hill

Bailey shared the news on Instagram via a photo of herself holding two champagne flutes engraved with their names and their big day.

“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” cast member Cynthia Bailey recently announced that her wedding to fiancé Mike Hill will proceed on the original date, despite the coronavirus pandemic. 

Bailey shared the news in an Instagram post on Sept. 6, in which she posted a photo of herself holding two champagne flutes. Each glass was engraved with her and Hill’s names and their October 10, 2020 wedding date.

Hill, an ESPN anchor, popped the question to Bailey last year after a year of dating. The proposal aired on the popular “Real Housewives” franchise series.

In early August, during an interview with E!’s “Daily Pop,” Bailey was asked if she was delaying her wedding plans. Her response: “That is the million-dollar question.” 

In March, Bailey told Bravo that she and Hill thought they picked the perfect date. 

In addition to finalizing the details of their pending wedding, the couple has also been busy learning to navigate their time in self-quarantine. Though being stuck inside together has “really tested” them at times, as Bailey told E! News, the duo remains closer than ever.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Bailey and Hill will most certainly have an abbreviated guest list. 

Bailey has been documenting her wedding preparation beauty routine on Instagram, where she shared that she had recently received a HydraFacial from celebrity aesthetician Jamesa Buchanan.

Bailey was previously married to Peter Thomas from 2010 until 2017. She also shares 19-year-old daughter Noelle with an ex-boyfriend, actor Leon Robinson. Hill, too, was previously married, and he co-parents daughters Ashlee and Kayla with ex-wife Cynthia Hill. 

Bailey has been a part of the cast of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” since 2010.
